Interpretation Services


The patients and staff of the Squirrel Hill Health Center speak more than 60 different languages.  The staff members at SHHC realize that language barriers often result in lower quality medical care. In an effort to provide the best possible quality of care, SHHC employs staff that speak:

  • American Sign Language
  • Arabic (العَرَبِيةُ)
  • Dari
  • Hebrew (עברית)
  • Hindi
  • Nepali (नेपाली भाषा)
  • Pashto
  • Spanish (Español)
  • Ukranian
  • Urdu

In the event an interpretor is not available, SHHC will use an interpreting service by phone. This service provides translation in almost every language.  In the event that an ASL speaking staff member is not available, SHHC uses the software Purple for ASL interpretation.
